Hello! I am a designer/director in the 3D animation industry that loves jewelry. So I decided to make and sell my own jewelry one day. I've gotten as far as designing, modeling, printing and getting my pieces casted, but now I'm looking to learn more about designing and modeling for stone setting!

Couldn't seem to find the answers immediately and then I remembered forums existed.

Looking forward to discussing and learning from everyone here!

    -Ellen

    Short intro

    Hey guys,

Started out in Motion Graphics and started working in jewelry in 2015. Atlanta here - I use Cinema 4D - its a mo-graph software not really designed for jewelry, but the tips carry to most 3d applications. Looking to get Rhino soon.

    Hey all,

My name is Mo and I've been using matrix and rhino for almost 10 years and have taught both jewelry fabrication and CAD/CAM for five years. I moved to California two years ago from Austin, Texas where I was an Instructor at Austin Community College. Most recently I was teaching CAD at GIA in Carlsbad but I resigned after one year to focus on more creative pursuits. I am excited to get back to the bench and focus on my own work again.

Looking forward to sharing tips, tricks, and ideas with you all.

    Hello

I'm new to this and wanting to see what it takes to create jewelry. I'm not going to pretend to believe that this is something I can just jump into or it'll be easy, but I'm willing to try as hard as I can.

Welcome Jack0. If you are looking for a place to learn, this is it. What CAD program are you using? You can do a search of YouTube and depending upon your program, you may find hundreds of tutorials at your disposal. Also check out the Media section at the top of the page for locally generated tutorials.
